FRIDAY NIGHT   (September 19, 2014) 6pm to 10pm

Friday Night Meet and Greet at the Tamaya Resort

(At the Cottonwood Building in the Bosque).

This is an outdoor patio event (weather permitting) with some fire pits, a couple bar setups, a little 60’s music (not too loud) and classmates gathering for some fun and conversation.

Whether you’ve been in touch, out of touch or on another planet, this is a very casual get together to meet some old friends and make some new ones.  It’s New Mexico in the early fall, so bring a jacket or sweater but also bring your sense of humor.  NONE of us look the same.  While that’s kinda funny, it should also be reassuring.  As one of our classmates noted, we all look like our parents and grandparents.

But to help out, we’ll be passing out nametags with our Senior Class pictures on them.  That should be good for a laugh also.  What you will find is that although we may not look the same, we are the same fun group underneath with a little more wisdom and a lot more experience..  Come join us for a really fun evening.

Come to the Tamaya Resort (Here’s a map to the resort) and park in the lot or for a small charge use the Valet parking service.  Come in the front door and walk through the open lobby and out the door leading to the Bosque.  A Shuttle bus will be taking us down into the beautiful fall Bosque.  It’s a no host bar, so bring a buck or two.

SATURDAY MORNING VHS TOUR (September 20th, 2014 10:00am)

FREE

Saturday Morning Tour of VHS Campus - Special Event – Don’t miss it!!    FREE

VHS Campus Tour…VHS Cheerleaders….Valley Principal Address..

Saturday Morning September 20, 2014

The tour of VHS will be at 10:00 AM on Saturday morning, September 20th, 2014.  Please meet at the Performing Arts Center on VHS campus.  Parking will be in the parking lot on the south side of the Administration Building.  This lot was the Teacher’s Parking Lot in our time at Valley.  The Performing Arts Center can be seen to the west of this parking lot.

Valley High Principal, Mr. Anthony Griego, will welcome us and give us an update on VHS.  The Cheer Leaders will perform the VHS Fight Song, and then we will break up into smaller groups and will be given a tour of the campus by the Cheer Leaders.  You wouldn’t believe how much the campus has changed!

NOTE:  Even if you are not attending the rest of the Reunion events, you can come to this.  There is no charge and a lot of Class of 64 will be there

Please be aware:  There will also be a statewide ROTC event on Saturday morning but the parking lot will be available to us and the ROTC parking guards have been informed that we will be parking and going to the Performing Arts Center.

SATURDAY NIGHT DINNER GET TOGETHER (September 20th, 2014) 6pm to 11pm

Saturday Night Dinner at the Hummingbird

Saturday night we will all gather in the “House of the Hummingbird’ Outdoor Ballroom at the Tamaya Hyatt Resort ( Here's a map to the Resort ).  This special evening will feature a sit down dinner with people you have known for 50 years (or more).  We’ll mingle, laugh…maybe dance a little; and we’ll share an evening in a wonderful setting that will be a memory forever.

The Tamaya Resort describes the area:

This unique 12,000 square foot outdoor ballroom incorporates the indigenous architecture of our Native American Pueblo and is built amid Pueblo ruins. Stunning views of the Sandia Mountains and the sacred butte - known as Tuyuna Mesa – add a very special touch to this inviting space. Featuring a 7,500-foot lawn, an amphitheater and a beautiful Hummingbird garden, perfect for weddings and Reunions.

Add a few friends, some music and we think our 50th reunion will be the best.  We have over 150 people attending, but in this space, it won’t feel at all crowded nor empty..

Much of the area is in well-manicured grass, so wear appropriate shoes (ladies… high heels could be difficult)

Dress is business casual, which means you can wear a Jacket and tie if you really want to.  Most of us will be in a nice shirt and slacks, but you can certainly wear a jacket if you’d like.  Slacks or a dress for the ladies..  And remember to bring a jacket or sweater as it is an outdoor venue.

Just like Friday night’s event, you will come to the front of the Tamaya Resort and we will have classmates and signs directing you to the event area.  The event venue is on the ground level north of the Lobby, by all the resort pools; so there are some stairs or an elevator to get you to that level. Then, it’s a walk of about 150 yards.  So if that’s a difficulty, the hotel will have a shuttle available also.
