Dear Classmates:

It seems unbelievable that it’s been almost 50 years since we left our Valley High School teachers and campus behind, as we all ventured out into an unknown future.  A future that held surprises, excitement, heartaches and I hope many moments of happiness.

We have become the survivors from an amazing period of history and we all have unique stories to tell of our passages. While we share an important part of our past, we now have individual tales to tell of those 50 years since graduation.  Here’s an idea: We should have a party to share and celebrate.

And let’s make it a party and celebration that you will never forget.  We want this to be the best gathering of friends and classmates we’ve ever had.  We just need you to make it complete.

Please set aside the dates of September 19th and 20th of 2014 for a wonderful time with old and new friends. I really hope you won’t miss it; like some things in life, there will be no do-overs for our 50th.

Your reunion committee worked hard to select a very special place that is uniquely representative of the beauty of New Mexico’s Rio Grande Valley.  The Hyatt Tamaya Resort is located in the Bosque with an unsurpassed view of our blue skies and Sandia Mountain range.

We have negotiated special pricing for our class to celebrate in a 5 star accommodation.  We will only have one 50th Reunion Celebration and this is guaranteed to be a couple of nights that will be one of your favorite memories. On the Reunion Details page, we are including links to look at the resort; We think you'll agree that it’s an amazing location.

There are further details regarding the costs, events and other information on the Reunion Details Tab.  More information about registering, menus and all the other important details will be coming, so check back on the website regularly.

We know that some classmates may not be able to come. But we don’t want anyone to be left out, so please pick someone and say hi to a fellow classmate using the ’Message Center’ tab when you visit the website.

Our website is designed to be more than an information source; it’s a time machine that you can use to touch people you haven’t seen or talked to in years.  More and more classmates are signing on and messaging each other.  Please join the fun.  It’s easy and safe and secure (contact the web admins if you have questions - go to the 'Contact Us Tab).  There are no strangers on our VHS Reunion website, make a new friend or reach out to an old one.

We hope all of you will start planning for the best party that VHS has ever had.  We may be older and we certainly all look different (trust me, we do!), but in our hearts and minds we remain Vikings forever.  Join us for the party and celebration!

Tony
