Fred Byer

Byer -- Frederick J. Byer, a lifelong resident of New Mexico, passed away in his home on Wednesday, January 5, 2000 after a long battle with cancer. He is survived by his wife, Connie R. Byer; sons, Kris E. Byer and Frederick J. Byer Jr., all of Los Lunas; and daughters, Tanya Largent and Sanya Milner of Clovis, NM. He is also survived by his mother, Fern L. Buckley of Albuquerque; seven granddaughters; six grandsons; two brothers, Randall D. and Clifford M. Byer; four sisters, Debbie Richardson, Lisa Martinez, Pearl Martinez, all of Albuquerque, Marilyn Fitton of Australia; many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, and many friends. Fred served his country in the United States Army in 1965 through 1968. He served during the Vietnam Conflict. He worked for many years as a Journeyman Plumber. In his spare time he became an avid Balloonist and Pilot. Fred flew his first AIBF in 1990. He also flew the Farmington Invitational, Colorado Springs Balloon Classic, and many local Rallies. He was also an avid bowler and golfer. He will be missed by all. Cremation has taken place. A Memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 8, 2000, 11:00 a.m., at Shepherd of the Valley, 1801 Montano Rd., Albuquerque, NM, with Pastor Carl Boaz officiating.
