First Visit and FAQ's

FAQ's

Q. Who do I contact with questions?
A. You can email us and send us a message via the “Contact Us” Tab on the site.  Or Click here.

Q. How do I contact another classmate?
A. Once you have added your classmate profile and your sign-in has been validated, you can contact any other classmate that has registered with the VHS site.  Just click on the 'Classmates Profile' tab (on the upper left side of your screen) and pick a signed in profile (signed in classmates have a check by their name).  You can send a private message or leave a public comment on the profile that other classmates visiting that profile can see.

Q. Can I change my name (nobody knows me by that name)?
A. Yes - once you have added your classmate profile, log on, and select the "Edit Contact Info" in the left panel.  You can change or add to your name on that page.  Be sure to save your changes when you have finished.

Q. I haven’t completed my profile yet, but I can open some page tabs and not others, why?

A. Pages that have more sensitive information on them (email addresses etc) are locked and blocked from the view of the general public, they have an asterisk after the name on the left side tabs.  Once you have completed your profile and have been verified, you will be able to go to all the pages on the site.

First Website Visit

If you are new to the website please read this as it will hopefully answer many of your questions on how to get a password, make a profile and how to use the website.

This website was created for the use of all our classmates and is maintained by some of your classmates. As a result, It is completely free to our Class of 64 classmates.  You will never be asked to pay to make a profile or to be able to access other alumni profiles (you CAN make a donation, to help pay for the site, but that's completely optional)

You will pick your password to protect your personal profile, signing in using this password also blocks the general public and search engines from accessing your profile details.  Once you create a profile, and your sign-in has been validated, you will also be able to see the profiles of your fellow classmates (the parts they have made available to other classmates) and you can interact with them.

All contact information  (address, phone number, etc) that you enter into this website will be kept confidential.  It will not be shared or distributed with anyone including your classmates (only the site admins can access contact information to contact you).

Your contact information is private: your address and phone number can't be seen by other classmates. When someone clicks on your name, all they will see of your contact information is your city and state and whatever information about yourself you choose to put on your profile page. Your email address is not viewable, though an email can be sent to you using the contact box at the bottom of your web Profile page (which does not disclose your actual email address).

Sign In and Get Validated

You will need to fill in your individual profile and get validated in order to access any password protected pages or classmate profiles on the site.  Start by clicking on the Classmate Profiles Tab. This will take you to a page with all your classmate names, including yours. Find your name and click on it.  Follow the prompts to create your profile. The password that you enter during this process will be used as your login password for future visits, please keep your password in a safe place. You can personalize your page with information such as what have you been up to since graduation in '64, school memories, your family, and photos.  If you post photos, more classmates will visit your profile.  Brag a little, we've earned it at this point in our lives.  PS  And don't worry, nobody's skinny and beautiful anymore either (but our grandkids are!)

Lock Your Profile:  We recommend you check the box labeled "Profile Visibility" on your 'Edit Profile' tab on the left side of the page (under Member Functions Header) to keep your information from being viewed by outsiders.  "Locking" your profile will ensure that only member classmates who are logged on can view your information.

To find out whether or not your profile is private, view Classmate Profiles BEFORE you log in.  If there is a padlock icon next to your name, your profile is Locked.  To change this setting (lock or unlock), log on, click on "Edit Profile" scroll to the  bottom and put a check in the box next to "Profile Visibility", then scroll down and click "Save Changes".

If you cannot find your name on the Classmate Profiles page, please contact us to have your name added. Go to Contact Us Tab.

Update Your ProfileIMPORTANT!

If you change your email address, mailing address, or phone number, please update those details in your profile.  We can't reach you with important updates, if your email changed. Use the Edit Profile function under the Member Functions in the left navigation.  This is the only way we can keep you up to date with Class activities.

'I Forgot My Password' and Retrieval:

If you click "Remember Me" when you log in, you will not need to log in next time you go to the site if you use the same computer.

Please Note: there is a password retrieval feature to click on: "Forgot Password?" in case you need to log in sometime and can't remember your password; a new password will be sent to your email inbox (another reason to keep your email address current). You can login from computers other than your home computer but you will need to enter your password.  As a final option, you can go to the  Contact Us Tab. and we will help you get logged back in.  You're Welcome!

More Instructions

How to upload pictures to your profile page:  (this has changed: It's easier!!)

1.    Be sure you are logged in on the home page. In the tabs on the left side under MEMBER FUNCTIONS, click on the tab: Edit Profile.

2.    Your profile page will appear and you can click on the 'Then' or 'Now' pictures, or click on the 'Photo's" or 'Video's' boxes on the right.

3.  The 'Photo's" or 'Video's' boxes on the right are very easy to add to.  Click on one of them, and then in the upper left, click on 'Upload.a new photo'

4. Navigate on your computer to the picture(s) you want to upload  and click on it and click below on open.  It will be added to your photo's on your profile page.  Depending on how fast your internet connection is, this may take a minute or two.  If you know how to do it, compress your photo's a bit for faster upload.  If you don't know how, don't worry, the program will do it for you, but it takes a little longer.

5. Uploading a photo to the then and now boxes on your profile page is very similar, and you can crop them online.

6.  Experiment...it's easy and you cant hurt the website.  If you get locked up (it happens occasionally) Just log off and log back in.  The biggest problem that people have is when their 'browser' doesn't show the changes.  Some browsers are worse than others (read: Microsoft Internet Explorer and Iphone).  But don't worry, log off and back on and you'll usually see the changes.  If none of that made any sense, don't worry...send us a note or call us, we'll give you a hand.
