Greetings to all, I got a call Monday night from Hazel Rosalie Garcia to let me know that classmate and cousin Darla Carpenter had passed away, last week; and service was on Monday. I last talked with her on her birthday last October.

So glad we had reconnected thru our reunion, and then found out we were 7th cousins. We got to spend a week here in SW Virginia exp!oring our Calloway heritage from the Revolutionary war era. Was looking forward to spending time together when I get there in May. Cherish our Jr High days, time together at church with the Reichs, and our adult lives.

My best to all our classmates and friends!

Darla was with us from first grade at Ranchos. I too was glad to reconnect with her at the 50th-- she IS a sweetheart, forever. Condolences to all of us.

Mike Sheyka provided a picture and a memory: of Bob Barker, Paul Perkovich and Mike together back in school. They were Key Club members and good friends. It's on both Bob and Paul's In Memory page and on Mike's profile page.

Thank you, Mike! These old pictures mean a lot to our class, thanks for sharing.

To our classmates: If you find any pictures in the closet or attic, let us know. We'll help you get them up on the site, everybody really enjoys seeing them. An old picture is more than just a photo, it's a memory and part of our shared past. Maybe Mike will post a little background on the photo. Thanks again...

Some kind memories of Jerry from his former brother-in-law and friend:

I just now learned of the passing of Jerry Chavarria, I was his brother-in-law from his first marriage. He has taught me some valuable lessons on life, and some very funny stories oh his life and time in the service. He will not easily be forgotten.

Occasionally, we get an interesting question from a classmate, that others may be curious about as well. The question we found interesting was: “What month has the most classmate birthdays in it?”

Without violating anyone’s confidentiality, we can pass along the answer: October - with 21 birthdays (that our classmates have shared with everyone). And January has the least at 8.

So, if you’re curious about the rest of the months, here’s the tally;

   Jan   8
   Feb   13
   Mar   10
   Apr   18
   May   14
   Jun   10
   Jul   9
   Aug   15
   Sep   15
   Oct   21
   Nov   18
   Dec   19

We’ll leave it to you to figure out the names that go with the numbers, Happy Birthday everyone!

PS There are many classmates who drop by but don't necessarily leave any messages (yes, we can see the number of classmate visits each day, but not the names). Thanks to all of you who make this website a regular stop, Some days, as many as 70+ classmates drop by. You get counted only once per day no matter how many times you stop by. Not sure how Google does that.

So, for all of you regular posters wishing happy birthdays to each other, don't stop! Because, you have many fans, and we all enjoy Leslie Fluke's great graphic posts. Happy Thanksgiving to a really great class!.

Nick Pavlakovich just found Delsie's obituary while doing research for our class.  Sadly there may be others like Delsie; classmates we don't know have passed.  Hopefully she will be remembered by some of our class.
