Jose Roybal Obituary
Jose "Ed" Roybal was born in Santa Fe on March 31, 1946. Ed passed suddenly from cancer on October 8, 2023, at age 77. He is survived by his loving wife Florabelle "Kookie", his eldest son Rockie (wife Elizabeth), his youngest son Danny (wife Jennifer), grandchildren Olivia, Nathaniel, and Gabriel, his brothers Jimmy Roybal Sr., and Joe Roybal Jr. (wife Ada).

Ed and Kookie met at Valley High School and were married in 1968. Ed was a proud Army Veteran who served in Vietnam from 1965-1967. He was a truck driver and member of the teamsters until his retirement. Ed was an avid hunter and fisherman who took pleasure in tying flies and teaching his sons and grandchildren how to fish. He enjoyed his time fly fishing with Healing Waters.

Ed built his own house and loved doing household projects. Camping and being outdoors were two of his favorite things. He adored spending time with his wife and true love of 60 years, and his family and friends.

Ed was always up for a new adventure, from cruising to Europe and traveling to National and State parks all over the United States. Ed had a contagious smile and a playful personality that engaged everyone he met. He made friends easily and was caring and loyal. Ed was the man everyone could depend on.

Services will be held at French's Mortuary, 9300 Golf Course Rd. NW, Albuquerque, NM 87114 on Friday, November 10, 2023 at 2:00pm reception to follow.
