Frances “Fran” Acre, 77, a resident of Elephant Butte, died at home surrounded by family on Tuesday, January 16, 2024. She was born on February 20, 1945, in Abilene, TX. In 2009, she married her husband, Bob. Fran was the first Title I teacher for the Acoma Pueblo. She was a member of the American Legion and the VFW. Fran loved life, her family, and her friends. She had the ability to make people feel so special. She enjoyed going to the lake and the pool. She especially enjoyed listening to her husband, Bob, sing to her at karaoke. Fran is going to be missed by her family and many friends. Survivors include her husband, Bob; mother, Janet; son, Trent; 1/grandson, 3/granddaughters, 2/great-grandsons, 1/great-granddaughter; sisters – Billie Kay, Cindy, and Liz; and brothers – Jeff and James. A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, February 1, 2024 at 11:00 A.M. at the American Legion.
