Hi Jay,
Don't keep in touch with anyone much anymore . . . was pretty shy in HS. Did make it down to a reunion a couple of times (good times) and played a little golf the both times around. Enjoy hearing about where classmates are and what they are doing these days.
My partner, Cathy and ran up to Yellowstone a month ago . . . I've been there several times and it's always WOW!
Considered going to the Black Hills and Mount Rushmore but we didn't have the time to run over.
Sounds like you live in a pretty Idyllic place. Might have gone thru there if circumstances had been different.
Away hope the both of you are doing well these days. Was impressed with the Navy experience.
ll the best . . Gary

“Wildest of the Wild West” by Howard Bryan
This is the book I finished reading about a week ago. Think I did it in record time. It is about a lot of NM history which I think some of you may be into.
First. A little more about me and my family. Dad moved us from the oilfields of SW Texas to a new job he had accepted in Las Vegas, New Mexico. I started school there at Douglas Elementary (I think) before we moved to Santa Fe where I went into my last elementary year in the sixth. Then on to Leah Harvey Junior High School.
OK . . .Then we moved again to Albuquerque. Garfield Junior High and then to Valley and graduation.
All this is background to my interest in the book, which was given to me by my older sister “Sherrill” (Class of ’62).
The first paragraph on the opening flap goes as follows . . .
“The Wild West” stories of Dodge City, Deadwood, and Tombstone pale in comparison to the incredible story of Las Vegas New Mexico, for decades considered the most violent community on America’s Western frontier.”
I couldn’t put it down. Not just for Las Vegas, but it also includes a smattering of the law and lawless history of New Mexico.
If you do get into it . . . drop me a line and let me know.

I got up few days ago, got my Coffee and settled down in the living room to watch the news and maybe a movie. Found a Jackie Chan flick and thought it might be fun.
It was "The Spy Next Door". Somewhere towards the end of the film they were at a place I thought that I recognized (Tamaya Resort where I had attended the 50th class reunion), followed up immediately by a pic of the Sandia's.
Yep . . . looking it up it was definitely Albuquerque, filmed there in 2008. What fun . . . going home again.
